Plushie Dreadfuls - Long COVID - Plush Stuffed Animal

Some illnesses leave when they're supposed to. This one didn't. The Long COVID Plushie Dreadful is for the people living in the long after, the ones managing a body that kept the symptoms long past the part where everyone else moved on.

Every detail is a little piece of that experience. The patchwork coat for the complicated, mismatched framework of symptoms (and the days spent feeling under the weather, or flat-out bedridden). The cozy awareness scarf for a body that lost its grip on temperature. And the soft alchemy of breath and fog, for the mind that doesn't always show up clear. Like all our Dreadfuls, it arrives with its own tote bag, ready to go wherever you do.

It can't make you better. It's not trying to. It's here to be the thing that already believes you, that sits close on the foggy days and asks nothing back. Sometimes feeling seen is the only medicine on offer. This little one is very good at it.

That's why our design team only creates plushies related to issues with which they have direct experience. In cases where our team does not have direct experience, we assemble an external team of experts to help guide our creative process. In addition, we use Crowd Design to engage a wide range of voices via platforms like Instagram and Facebook. We gather and respond to feedback from our audience - many of whom have direct experience with the issues we're exploring. And while we strive to represent as many aspects of a particular issue as possible while avoiding stereotypical representations, we hope you understand that plush toys as an artistic medium do limit the full expression of a particular issue to those things that can be crafted in fabric and stitching.
